— Ric Holden, a Glendive rancher, throws his hat in the ring for Montana’s eastern Congressional seat. He repeats the oversimplistic myth that Montana is a “farm state” and that somehow everything revolves around agriculture, forgetting tourism, medical services and many other drivers of the economy, as well as the fact that farmers and ranchers wouldn’t survive without all the other elements in Montana’s economy (government, medical services, banks, town businesses and etc.). President Biden didn’t “shut down the economy.” The economy went downhill during the Trump administration, due to trump’s mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic (that ended up killing millions). Holden is oblivous to the danger of “superbugs” that threaten us if we use antibiotics injudiciously. Incredibly, he advocates shutting down our borders, which would throw our economy into turmoil, and he is oblivious to the fact that Congress, due to Republican inaction, is failing to to its job and come up with responsible immigration policies that President Biden can then sign into law. Holden also is, apparently, a climate-change denier and, stunningly, wants to use even more coal, meaning he has no understanding of a smart energy future. The bottom line is that Holden is obviously unqualified to represent Montana in a responsible and intelligent way in Congress.
— Speaking of wacky, Ted Marshall Sr. apparently advocates for keeping far-right extremists and wingnuts like Matt Rosendale and Elsie Arntzen near public office, when they shouldn’t be anywhere near politics.
— The Carbon County Republican Women group has one of their cadre of regular writers send out a letter-to-the-editor advocating for a march that would advocate for forcing women to bear pregnancies (via the “March For Life,” even though the policies of the marchers are anything but “pro-life”).
