In the May 4 Carbon County News letters to the editor a local business person downplays the impact of the Harley rally on Red Lodge, and overstates the importance of special events…

The Harley rally alienates and displaces regular tourists, presents a threat to the safety of Red Lodge residents, costs the town money, forces some businesses to close and encourages an inconsiderately noisy type of motorcycle (as opposed to Hondas, BMWs and et cetera) to visit. Fortunately, the Harley hog motorcycle is a dying type of motorcycle. Red Lodge now is on the verge of over-tourism, with the town full all summer long, regardless of special events, and the quality of life for residents in threatened.

In another letter, another far-right and wacky member of the Carbon County Republican Women wildly distorts the facts and lets her particular brand of religion cloud her judgement, apparently. Forgetting, as they do, the importance of the separation of church and state.
