Teaching baloney is not teaching critical thinking skills. Teaching “both sides” does not mean wasting time by the giving the same time and resources to teaching wacky things like slavery was beneficial, man-caused climate change denialism, creationism, flat-Earthism and denying we landed on the moon as we give to fact-based and science-based issues (which can have different perspectives, which are worth teaching). We wonder if our brilliant state officials would be willing to have courses that give equal time to both belief in a god or gods and to atheism?
