The Montana Independent New article let realtors repeat the nonsense that Red Lodge would suffer with restrictions on short-term rentals, and that tourists would stop coming. Red Lodge is overrun with tourists, especially in the summer, whether there are short-term rentals or not. The real problem is the negative impact on neighborhoods of new and unfamiliar faces, not infrequently disruptive, coming and going from STRs. Not to mention the impact of STRs on affordable housing.
